Volunteer Opportunities in Corpus Christi: Support the Chamber Foundation

Madelynn Duque

Program Support Coordinator

April is National Volunteer Month, and here at the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce, we believe that the heart of our community beats strongest when we work together.

Whether you’re a long-time resident or a business professional looking to give back, volunteering is one of the most impactful ways to shape the future of the Coastal Bend. This month, we’re highlighting two of our flagship programs where your time and talent can truly make a difference.

🍋 Lemonade Day Coastal Bend: Mentoring Future CEOs

City Event Dates:

Kingsville & Robstown: Saturday, April 25, 2026
Coastal Bend: Saturday, June 20, 2026
Alice: Saturday, June 17, 2026
Portland: Saturday, July 18, 2026
Lemmy’s Splash Bash: August 9, 2026

Lemonade Day Coastal Bend is more than just a day of refreshing drinks. It is a community wide initiative that teaches youth the essentials of entrepreneurship. Participants learn to set goals, develop business plans, and manage finances. But they can’t do it alone!

How You Can Get Involved:

  • Become a Mentor: Guide a young “kidpreneur” through the process of starting their first business. Your professional experience can help them navigate budgeting and marketing.
  • Registration Support: Staff our registration tables at local schools and community centers to help parents and students sign up through the MyLemonadeDay app.
  • Be a Customer: Make it a point to visit stands across the Coastal Bend. Your purchase validates their hard work and helps them learn the value of a dollar.

Impact Note: Lemonade Day teaches kids to “Spend a little, save a little, and give a little.” By volunteering, you’re helping raise the next generation of philanthropic leaders.Contact hope@unitedcorpuschristi.org to volunteer with Lemonade Day Coastal Bend

🚴 Conquer the Coast: Powering the Ride

Event Date: Saturday, September 19, 2026

Conquer the Coast is one of the most scenic and challenging cycling events in Texas. With routes ranging from 10 to 69 miles, it draws thousands of riders to our beautiful shores. An event of this scale requires an army of dedicated volunteers to keep things rolling safely.

How You Can Get Involved:

  • Rest Stop Heroes: Staff one of our many water and snack stations. You’ll be the cheerleader providing the fuel and motivation riders need to finish their route
Packet Pickup: Help us greet riders and distribute race bibs, jerseys, and swag bags the day before leading the ride. (September 18)  This is the best way to see the excitement of the participants firsthand.
  • Setup and Takedown Teams: Join our early morning crew at Whataburger Field to help build the start and finish line atmosphere. We also need help for afternoon takedown to ensure that our staff is supported in getting the course cleared safely and efficiently.

Why Volunteer with the Chamber?

Volunteering with the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce Foundation isn’t just about “doing good.” It is about connection. When you volunteer, you:

  • Network with other local professionals and community leaders.
  • Gain Visibility for your business or organization.
  • Invest directly in the economic and educational health of our region.
