The United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce and the Sister Cities Committee is proud to announce the official delegation for our 2026 summer exchange programs. This year, we are sending four exceptional local high-school students to represent Corpus Christi in our sister cities of Agen, France and Yokosuka, Japan.

These programs provide a unique opportunity for cultural immersion, where students live with host families, attend local events, and build international friendships that bridge the gap between our coastal home and the rest of the world.

Where We’re Going! ✈️

Destination: Agen, France 🗼

Travel Dates: June 1st – June 12th, 2026

Located in the scenic southwest of France, Agen is famous for its medieval architecture and rich culinary history. Our ambassadors will spend nearly two weeks exploring French culture and representing the best of South Texas.

2026 France Ambassadors:

Kaitlyn Hu – Flour Bluff High School

Bruno Narvaez – Veterans Memorial High School

Destination: Yokosuka, Japan 🏯

Travel Dates: July 2nd – July 18th, 2026

Our second delegation will travel to Yokosuka, a vibrant port city known for its naval history and beautiful coastal views. Yokosuka is the perfect sister city match for Corpus Christi. These students will experience traditional Japanese hospitality and the daily life of a Japanese student.

2026 Japan Ambassadors:

Mia Lizcano – Flour Bluff High School

Lylah Serna – Veterans Memorial High School

Building Connections that Last

The Sister City Student Exchange Program is a reciprocal journey. After our students spend two weeks abroad, they return home with their exchange partners, who then spend two weeks here in Corpus Christi experiencing life in the Coastal Bend.

This cycle of hosting and traveling helps our youth develop:

  • Global Leadership: Acting as official representatives of their schools and city.
  • Language Skills: Practicing French and Japanese in real-world settings.
  • Cultural Competence: Gaining a deeper understanding of global traditions and social norms.

How to Follow the Journey

We invite the community to follow along as our committee members and students embark on these life-changing adventures. We will be posting photo updates and student journals throughout June and July 2026. Help us wish our committee a safe and inspiring trip!
