Robstown, TX – The United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce Foundation, through their Mano a Mano Education Fund, is pleased to announce a generous donation of 20 drone kits to the Robstown Independent School District (ISD) for the Robert Driscoll Elementary STEM Academy.

The donation is a testament to the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s commitment to fostering innovation and supporting educational endeavors that prepare students for future careers. The drone kits will enable students at Robert Driscoll Elementary STEM Academy to engage in experiential learning, encouraging critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork.

“Drones have become an integral part of various industries, from agriculture to maritime, and equipping students with the skills to operate and understand these technologies will undoubtedly provide them with exposure to the jobs in the Coastal Bend,” said Al Arreola Jr., Pres/CEO of the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce. “The United Chamber believes that investing in education today will yield a workforce that is ready to face the challenges of tomorrow.  By empowering students with access to cutting-edge technology, we aim to inspire a passion for STEAM fields and encourage them to pursue careers that drive innovation.”

The Robstown ISD Superintendent, Dr. Marc Puig, expressed gratitude for the donation, stating, “We greatly appreciate the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce’s support in advancing STEAM education in our district. These drone kits will spark curiosity and allow our students to explore STEAM concepts in a tangible and exciting way.”

“The United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce Foundation remains dedicated to strengthening the community through collaborations that promote education, economic development, and workforce readiness,” said May Mendoza, Board Chair of the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce. “This donation represents one of many efforts to bridge the gap between industry and education, ensuring that students are well-prepared for the challenges and opportunities of the future.”

As part of this commitment to giving back to the community, the United Chamber & IBC Bank will host “Noche De Mariachi” on Saturday, October 14th, 2023, with all proceeds benefiting the United Corpus Christi Chamber Foundation’s Mano a Mano Education Fund.  For sponsorship opportunities please click here or contact Hope Rangel at hope@unitedcorpuschristi.org or call 361-881-1800.
