As your United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce, nothing excites us more than discovering the depth of talent within our membership. We are proud to celebrate fellow Chamber member Dr. Farooq Husayn, a practicing pediatrician serving the families of Corpus Christi, who has just published his debut novel, Your Story Told by Another, writing under the pen name Stanley Livingstone.

For Dr. Husayn, this book has been years in the making. A physician with a lifelong commitment to the wellbeing of his patients and community, he brings that same depth of care and observation to the page. Your Story Told by Another is the result of a lifetime spent watching people navigate their most difficult moments, and believing those stories deserved to be told.

About the Book

Your Story Told by Another is an allegorical story about a boy named Jacob who grows up caught between two powerful forces. A mysterious old man who guides him toward his better self. And an inner voice that keeps pulling him toward compromise. When someone he loves dies from drug abuse and he is then recruited into the very world that took her, Jacob has to decide who he truly is.

The Midwest Book Review calls it “original, eloquent, and a simply fascinating read.” Readers’ Favorite awarded it five stars.
