Celebrating Our Progress at the Institute for Organization Management

Al Arreola Jr.

President & CEO

Our staff has made significant strides in their growth at the transformative Institute for Organization Management, the professional development program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. We are proud to share that members of our team —Ginny Cross (VP of Government Affairs), Jessica Furdock (VP of Events), and Gloria Fuentes (VP of Membership)—have successfully completed their second year, and I have completed my third year and will be graduating in 2025.

The Institute for Organization Management, held at the University of Georgia in Athens, is a four-year leadership training program designed for nonprofit leaders. It equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and dedication necessary to thrive in the dynamic association and chamber industries. As Raymond P. Towle, IOM, CAE, the U.S. Chamber’s vice president of Institute for Organization Management, states, “Institute graduates are recognized across the country as leaders in their industries and organizations.”

Since 1921, the Institute program has educated tens of thousands of leaders from associations, chambers, and other nonprofit organizations. The curriculum spans four weeklong sessions across different university locations nationwide, offering courses in leadership, advocacy, marketing, finance, and membership. This comprehensive approach allows participants to refine their organizational management skills and enhance their organizations’ efficiency and effectiveness.

The Institute for Organization Management is the premier professional development platform for association and chamber professionals, fostering growth through interactive learning and networking opportunities. It stands as a testament to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s commitment to nurturing leadership and excellence within the nonprofit sector.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the world’s largest business organization, represents companies of all sizes across every economic sector. From small businesses and local chambers to leading industry associations and large corporations, the Chamber’s members are the heartbeat of the economy.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce for investing in our professional and personal growth. As we continue our journey with the Institute for Organization Management, we look forward to applying the knowledge and insights gained to further enhance our chamber’s impact and service to our members.
