ICYMI: Infrastructure and Mobility Committee Tackles Water and Streets

Mitra Kahn, Highway Barricades

Infrastructure & Mobility Chair

If you missed this month’s Infrastructure and Mobility Committee meeting, you missed an engaging and informative discussion focused on two critical topics: water supply and street improvements.

Water Supply Dashboard

First on the agenda, Corpus Christi Water COO Drew Molly gave an impressive overview of the City’s new Water Supply Dashboard. His expertise and in-depth knowledge of our water systems helped bring clarity to how the dashboard works and why it matters. This new tool offers residents real-time, transparent access to data about our region’s water supply—empowering the public to stay informed and engaged.

Rapid Paving Program (RPP)

Next, Ernesto De La Garza, Director of the City’s Public Works Department, presented on the Rapid Paving Program (RPP). The program is a comprehensive initiative aimed at improving road conditions across the city and includes four key components:

  • Street Preventative Maintenance Program (SPMP): Covers residential, local, collector, and arterial streets.
  • In-House Rehabilitation: Focuses on residential and residential collector streets.
  • Residential Street Reconstruction Program (RSRP): Targets reconstruction of residential and residential collector streets.
  • Concrete Street Maintenance: Primarily addresses arterial and collector streets.
