Drought Resilience Workforce Stability Grant Program: Supporting Corpus Christi Small Businesses

The United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce is proud to share details about the Drought Resilience Workforce Stability Grant Program, a crucial initiative aimed at supporting local small businesses impacted by the Stage-3 water restrictions. This program, funded through a collaboration between the City of Corpus Christi Type B Corporation and administered by LiftFund, has dedicated $2 million in funding to help businesses maintain their workforce during these challenging times.

The program, funded in collaboration with the City of Corpus Christi Type B Corporation and administered by LiftFund, has dedicated $2 million in funding to support local small businesses that have been impacted by the Stage-3 water restrictions. Eligible businesses may receive up to $50,000 to cover payroll and retain existing employees and contractors. Program Overview

Eligible businesses can receive up to $50,000 in grant funding to cover payroll expenses and retain existing employees and contractors. This support ensures that businesses affected by drought-related restrictions have the financial stability to continue operations and sustain their workforce.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the program, businesses must:

  • Be located within the Corpus Christi city limits
  • Have been operational for at least 12 months before applying
  • Demonstrate continuous business activity
  • Employ at least one full-time employee
  • Show a 20% decline in revenue or workforce due to Stage-3 restrictions
  • Be directly impacted by the current drought conditions

Industries Encouraged to Apply

Businesses in the following industries should consider applying:

  • Landscaping
  • Garden Centers
  • Pressure Washing
  • Irrigation
  • Car Washing
  • Other (for businesses that may not fit these categories but are still affected by the drought restrictions)

How to Apply

Businesses interested in applying for the grant can fill out the Drought Resilience Program Interest Form at: LiftFund Interest Form. Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis, and will remain open until funds are exhausted.

Bilingual Virtual Information Sessions

To help businesses understand the application process, LiftFund and the Office of Economic Development will host bilingual virtual information sessions on:

  • Wednesday, March 12
  • Thursday, March 20
