A Simple Meal With A Powerful Mission: Corpus Christi Metro Ministries for the 34th Annual Poor Man’s Supper

Patty Clark

Metro Ministries, CEO

Join Corpus Christi Metro Ministries for the 34th Annual Poor Man’s Supper on Thursday, October 16, 2025, featuring a heartfelt appearance by Aliya Enriquez, the first Foster Sanctuary Graduate. This inspiring event invites the community to come together in support of compassion, dignity, and hope.

The tradition of the Poor Man’s Supper began over three decades ago as a way to remind us of the simple yet profound power of sharing a meal. Guests are served a warm bowl of stew in a bread bowl, symbolizing the everyday nourishment that so many in our community go without. By standing in line to receive their meal, attendees are reminded of the humility and gratitude that connect us all.

This special evening is more than just a meal. It is a moment to reflect on the mission of Metro Ministries, which continues to provide food, shelter, and guidance for individuals and families in need. Through their Foster Sanctuary and many other programs, Metro Ministries offers not only resources but also renewed hope and opportunity.

As the community gathers for this meaningful event, stories of transformation like Aliya’s remind us why Metro Ministries’ work matters. Every bowl served and every act of kindness shared moves us closer to a stronger and more compassionate community.

Come share in this tradition of unity and purpose. Together, we can make a difference, one meal and one heart at a time.
