The blue and green spirit is soaring across the Coastal Bend this week! Tonight, the Texas A&M University Corpus Christi 2026 Homecoming Honors Banquet officially kicks off, and the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce is beaming with pride.

Two of our very own Board of Directors, Callie Walker (Gulf Coast Growth Ventures) and Moses Mostaghasi (Coastal Bend Lots), are being celebrated this evening for their incredible professional achievements and their deep heart for service. Their dedication to our community is the perfect reflection of the “Islander Impact” being honored tonight.

Callie Walker: A Champion for Community and Connection

Being honored tonight as the 2026 Young Alumnus, Callie Walker (’19) is a true force for good in our region. In her professional role as the Public and Government Affairs Manager for Gulf Coast Growth Ventures (GCGV), she does vital work leading their Small Business Roundtable Procurement initiatives. This program ensures local businesses have a seat at the table with major industries. Here at the Chamber, Callie is a constant source of leadership and warmth. She currently serves on our Policy Advisory Committee, helping navigate the complex issues facing our business community, and brings her energy to our Lemonade Day Committee where she helps our efforts with future entrepreneurs. Callie has a unique gift for building bridges between global industry and local spirit, and we are so lucky to have her on our Board of Directors.

Moses Mostaghasi: Constructing a Stronger Coastal Bend
We also celebrate Moses Mostaghasi (’06), who is being recognized tonight as the 2026 Outstanding Alumnus. Moses’s journey from a student building his first project to becoming the region’s premier land developer is a testament to the power of vision and hard work. Moses brings that same builder’s mindset to his leadership role at the Chamber. As a key member of our Infrastructure and Mobility Committee, he works tirelessly to ensure our city’s growth is matched by smart, safe, and sustainable development. His commitment to public safety and his expertise in local expansion make him an invaluable asset as we look toward the future of the Coastal Bend.

Advocacy in Action: From Austin to D.C.

One of the most impactful ways Callie and Moses serve our Chamber is through their heavy involvement in our signature advocacy trips. Whether we are heading to the State Capitol for Coastal Bend to Austin or traveling to the nation’s capital for Coastal Bend to Washington D.C., you will find both of them on the front lines.

They are fierce advocates for our local economy, ensuring that the needs of Corpus Christi businesses are heard by legislators at every level. Their presence on these trips makes a tangible difference in the resources and attention our region receives.

A Night of Excellence
While we are especially cheering for our own board members tonight, the 2026 Homecoming Honors Banquet is a beautiful reminder of the world class talent our community produces. We also want to extend a warm congratulations to John Baker ‘64, this year’s Distinguished Alumnus, for his legendary contributions to Texas agriculture, and to all the other honorees being recognized for their unique impacts.
To Callie and Moses: we look forward to celebrating you both this evening. Thank you for your leadership, your mentorship, and for everything you do to make the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce and our entire community a better place.
